Revolutionizing Vision Screening for NMCEL with GLD-Vision
Addressing Vision Health in New Mexico Schools
In our ongoing efforts to support New Mexico’s students and educators, we have developed a solution to help alleviate challenges stemming from the Martinez/Yazzi lawsuit. We are introducing GLD-Vision, an affordable, medically validated, and automated online vision screening system designed to improve student wellness. In partnership with the New Mexico Coalition of Education Leaders (NMCEL), we are launching a pilot program funded by Good-Lite Digital Inc., providing proof of the system’s effectiveness.
Over 2,000 Students Enrolled in Vision Screening Program
So far, more than 2,000 students from various Regional Education Cooperatives have been onboarded into the vision screening program. Each participating school has received two GLD-Vision Support Kits, and several dozen nurses and staff have been trained through Good-Lite Academy to ensure effective implementation.
Bringing Vision Health to Rural Schools
Collaborating with Stan Rounds, Executive Director at NMCEL, has allowed us to reach rural school districts that often lack access to wellness solutions. GLD-Vision is designed for schools, offering a fully online, automated system that screens distance acuity, stereo vision, and color vision in less than three minutes.
The Future of Vision Screening in New Mexico Schools
We are dedicated to expanding GLD-Vision across the state, ensuring that every New Mexico student receives accessible and comprehensive vision screenings. By continuing our work with NMCEL and other key organizations, we aim to improve the wellness and academic success of students for years to come.
