About
The Rosenbaum card, first introduced in the 1970s, is the most widely used handheld card for measuring near visual acuity. It was originally developed by Dr. J. George Rosenbaum of Cleveland, Ohio for testing vision at the bedside of patients after cataract surgery.
Good-Lite has taken your input and thoughtfully updated it to meet modern vision screening standards. The wide-spaced near-test has been replaced with proportionally spaced letters for greater accuracy, a reading test has been added, and easily recognizable optotypes—such as "XO" and Lighthouse symbols—have been removed to reduce memorization bias. Additionally, the cross-hatch target has been redesigned for improved functionality.
Card measures 3.75" x 6.25" (9.5 cm x 15.9 cm).
Testing distance: 16"/40cm.
