The LEA NUMBERS® 50% Crowding Bars Book is a handheld flip book for assessing distance visual acuity at 10 feet / 3 meters. Each test target presents a single LEA NUMBERS® optotype surrounded by 50%-spaced crowding bars, combining an individual number presentation with the contour interaction of nearby bars.
This format allows the examiner to present one target at a time while retaining a crowding effect, rather than showing an isolated number without surrounding detail. It can be used with patients who can identify numbers, including adults and older adults.
