1. Required Screenings
In the state of North Carolina, vision screenings are implemented to identify visual issues early in a child’s development. These screenings are vital to academic success and child health.
Vision Screening Assessments:
- Distance visual acuity
- Depth perception (stereopsis screening)
- Color vision deficiency screening
Age-Specific Requirements:
- Annual screenings for children ages 3 to 6 years
- Repeat screenings at ages 8, 10, 12, and 15 years
